Washington Redskins fire Mike Shanahan


The Washington Redskins have officially fired head coach Mike Shanahan. The Redskins year could be defined but what seemed to be a power struggle between RG3, Shanahan and owner, Daniel Snyder. Snyder released a statement.

Redskins fans deserve a better result,” owner Daniel Snyder said in a team-issued release. “We thank Mike for his efforts on behalf of the Redskins.  We will focus on what it takes to build a winning team, and my pledge to this organization and to this community is to continue to commit the resources and talent necessary to put this team back in the playoffs.”

The firing comes as no surprise. What will be interesting, is who the team brings in to replace him. Will it be someone to appease RG3?

After making the playoffs Griffin’s rookie season, the team went 3-13, including a seven-game losing streak.
