Football is back. For me it’s like getting reacquainted with someone you went on a few dates with, you guys were cool but life got in the way… or in my case, the NBA. For the 2011 NFL season, I’m planning on taking this relationship to the next level. I’m not making any promises on how far we’ll go (as in the NFL replacing the NBA as my “Mr. Big”) but we’re definitely going to and attempt to see what happens (I totally sound like a guy putting a female on stand-by while he makes sure a better option isn’t coming along)
- Redskins trade Donovan McNabb to the Vikings for a pair of cleats and a bottle of Cool blue Gatorade Serious question, is he even relevant anymore? Obviously they’re in the aftermath of Brett Favre but they still have Adrian Peterson and are on the short list for teams possibly moving to L.A. That’s something right?
- Teams have begun salary dump measures. The Baltimore Ravens announced their intentions to unload Willis McGahee, Todd Heap, Derrick Mason and Kelly Gregg. While the Dallas Cowboys say goodbye to running back Marion Barber, wide receiver Roy Williams, right guard Leonard Davis, tackle Marc Colombo and place kicker Kris Brown. At least Roy got his engagement ring back so he has a parting gift to take with him.
- New York Jets Santonio Holmes is staying put. The wide out just signed a new deal with the team for five years-$50 million, with $24 million guaranteed. Nice. As for their other WR Braylon Edwards… yeahhhhhh stay tuned but it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing more on field backflips from the bearded one.
- And then, there are some guys that even security at the practice facility doesn’t recognize. Redskins QB John Beck was turned away. The Redskins are kind of a mess huh?
