Fired On Your Day Off: Titans Part Ways With Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt

Tuesdays are the day off in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t lose your job like Craig did in “Friday.”

One coach was fired, another player was waived and another traded.

First up, the Tennessee Titans have parted ways with head coach Ken Whisenhunt after a 1-6 start. The team has lost six straight games after an impressive season opener win against the  Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Whisenhunt’s record as head coach is a lowly 3-20.

The Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with Joseph Randle. The running back made headlines last week after the Cowboys demoted him from his starting position, and placed him on “leave” to deal with personal issues. Randle is also facing a possible suspension from the league because of a violation of the personal conduct policy.

The 49’ers have had a pretty rough start to the season. QB Colin Kaepernick seems to be shouldering much of the blame. Reports out of the Bay Area were that an altercation took place in the locker room between tight end Vernon Davis and tackle Joe Staley, over Kap’s alleged aloof behavior.
Reports downplayed the incident but on Monday, Davis was traded to the Denver Broncos after 10 seasons with San Francisco.  In return for Davis and a 2016 seventh-round pick, the 49ers will get the Broncos’ sixth-round pick in 2016 and 2017.
The 49ers have also decided to bench the struggling Colin Kaepernick in favor of Blaine Gabbert this week.
