Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch thinking of retiring after this season?

Marshawn-Lynch

We’ve heard this story before. Maybe this time he’s serious. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is reportedly considering retirement.

Although Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch continues to be one of the top running backs in the NFL eight seasons into his career, he might consider retiring following the 2014 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Sources with direct knowledge of Lynch’s thinking said the 28-year-old running back and former 2007 first-round pick is weighing the possibility of retiring after this season.

One issue for Lynch is regarding his health, as he has battled back pain over the last four seasons. The cartilage in his spinal cord is compressed, which brings him discomfort, according to the report.

Although Lynch is a locker room favorite, the team allegedly has plans to part ways with him after this season.
