NFL Cuts: Patriots release Tim Tebow & Packers drop Vince Young

Tebow-Young-released

We are days away from the official start to the 2013 NFL season. Of course that means final roster cuts are happening to trim rosters down to the league mandate of 53 players. Saturday morning saw two quarterbacks that the media has kept close tabs on fall victim to the cut.

The New England Patriots announced that they have released Tim Tebow. It might be time for Tebow to consider a career as a motivational speaker at this point. His on-field game hasn’t been relevant since that small run with the Broncos during the 2011 season. His time with the Jets in 2012 was simply a media circus and now football royalty in Pats head coach Bill Belichick has passed on the QB.

Vince Young was on the other end of the spectrum. The former third overall pick in the 2006 draft, was a talented QB but his off the field issues have overshadowed him for the last few years.

Perhaps the Buffalo Bills give Young a call. He was with them briefly and the Bills could use a back up with Kevin Kolb already injured in preseason.
