Richie Incognito’s time with the Miami Dolphins is a wrap per Miami Herald reporter Armando Salguero. The Dolphins are ready to part ways with Incognito after he allegedly harassed second year teammate, Jonathan Martin. Martin was said to be concerned that Incognito planned to harm him and decided to leave the team.
“He’s done,” the source told Salguero Monday. “There are procedures in place and everyone wants to be fair. The NFL is involved. But from a club perspective he’ll never play another game here.”
This story has taken several twists over the past 24 hours, including Incognito hopping on Twitter to blast ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s original report, the Miami Dolphins denying bullying claims, then backtracking from their original statement.
Then on Monday morning reports surfaced of voice mail threats and text messages which could lay out a pattern of intimidation dating back to last April. The Dolphins have suspended Incognito indefinitely, no word on when Martin plans on returning to the team.
Incognito has a history of disruptive behavior dating back to college. He was cut from the Rams four seasons ago following an altercation with a coach on the sideline. He’s been with the Dolphins for three seasons.
