Day two of the NFL draft answered the pressing questions as to where Manti Te’o, Geno Smith and the former “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu would end up. First up, Geno Smith.
Our last images of Geno Smith from day one of the draft were of Smith sitting in Radio City Music Hall waiting for his name to be called looking extremely uncomfortable. He didn’t even have an ensemble ready for day 2, so his mom purchased something on the fly. In a surprising move, the New York Jets selected Smith at number 39. The selection gives the Jets six quarterbacks on the roster — Sanchez, Garrard, Tim Tebow, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms — and now Smith. Plus more controversy with what happens to Sanchez next season. J-E-T-S.
Taken one slot ahead of Geno was Manti Te’o at number 38 to the San Diego Chargers. This was a smart move for the Chargers because there obviously a cultural tie-in with the Samoan community in San Diego. But comparisons to Junior Seau are bit early. Most amusing thing about this pick, Te’o thought he was being pranked when the California area code showed up in his phone…
manti says when he saw a california area code he thought some of his friends were trying to prank him. can’t make this stuff up.

Lennay Kekua back for round three?
And lastly, there is the guy formerly known as “Honey Bader,” Tyrann Mathieu. In the third round, with the 69th pick, the Arizona Cardinals selected Mathieu. Of course people are wondering if his past issues with weed will be a problem for him now that’s he stepping up to the NFL stage. Mathieu has said he’ll submit to weekly drug tests if the team wants to prove to them he’s clean and focused. I think that might go against the CBA but who knows what side agreements are made at times.
Tyrann Mathieu just said on air that he has agreed to take a weekly drug test with the Cardinals

What I will say Tyrann should look out for, his girlfriend, New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans cheerleader Sydni Paige Russell. She looked like she hit the lottery when his name was called.
Look at the little girl to the right side-eyeing her. She already knows…
