Dion Waiters was unhappy in Cleveland for quite some time. Last season he and point guard Kyrie Irving were bumping heads, reportedly because Dion felt he was “better” than Kyrie.
One of the reasons Waiters was unhappy with the Cavs is he thought he should be starting. In fact, Sam Amico of FOX Sports reports that Waiters believes he is a better player than Kyrie Irving and that the Cavs “favored” Irving.
This season we say Waiters upset that he didn’t have the ball in his hands more, and even dramatically clapping at LeBron to pass the ball. But now Dion has been traded to the Thunder to team up with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. KD said he wants to make sure Dion feels welcome, because he doesn’t believe he’s felt that way in awhile.
Kevin Durant on Dion Waiters: “We’re going to make him feel wanted. I don’t think he’s felt that the last few years.”

The Cavs were in Philly- Dion’s home town- when he got the news he was being traded. He celebrated the trade with good friend, rapper Meek Mill.
Meek even dropped some of his new music, and formed a skate line with Dion and a friend.
