Robert Griffin III’s MRI revelas partial tear of ACL and LCL

RG3-injures-leg

The news isn’t sounding too good for Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins. The word regarding the injury he suffered during Sunday’s wildcard game against the Seahawks is that the MRI showed possible partial tears of his anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments. RG3 traveled to Florida to meet with Dr. James Andrews today.

Right now it’s not known if surgery is required but this is the same knee that he tore his ACL in back in 2009 while attending Baylor. Also in doubt, Griffin’s first Pro Bowl appearance. He was selected to play in the game later this month in Hawaii.

Let’s hope Dr. Andrews can get RG3 on the same regimen that brought Adrian Peterson back in record time.
