LA Clippers star and NBPA president Chris Paul was in Washington DC on Monday to introduce the “My Brother’s Keeper” program with President Obama. The program’s goal it to provide young men of color with mentors and support networks to help them get into college, reduce drop out rates and helping them avoid becoming caught up in the cycle of the crime and prison that plagues many minority boys.

President Obama announced an expansion of the initiative that includes commitments by 60 of America’s largest school districts and a host of new foundations and agencies as well as major corporations, including the NBA and its players and retired players associations.

The NBA will specifically create a public service campaign designed to recruit at least 25,000 minority male mentors.
