Carmelo Anthony Launches Tech Venture Capital Investment Firm

Now that Carmelo Anthony has gotten all that NBA free agency business out of the way, the All-Star is set to embark on another business venture. This time Anthony takes on the tech world.

Anthony and longtime NBC and Bertelsmann executive Stuart Goldfarb are launching a new venture capitalist investment firm, M7 Tech Partners. The first company they’ll be funding is a children’s media company named “Hullabalu.”

The New York-based firm will invest in early stage digital media, consumer internet and opportunistic technology startups.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in technology,” Anthony said in a statement. “We are actively looking for ventures with strong leaders creating breakthrough products that resonate with consumers. I particularly have my eye on companies that are involved with wearable technology and connected devices. These will be huge areas for the future.”

I love that the new era of athletes are looking beyond the sports zone for areas to invest and grow in. Sidenote, I may have a propsal for you Melo, holla at your girl!
