Pacers Chris Copeland Stabbed Plus 2 Members Of Hawks Arrested After Night at 1 Oak

Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland was stabbed, and two members of the Atlanta Hawks were arrested early Wednesday morning in New York, following an incident outside of 1 Oak club.


Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland, 31, a former member of the Knicks, was stabbed in the abdomen around 4 a.m., the New York Daily News reported. His wife, Katrine Saltara, 28, and another woman were also slashed during the argument. All three were rushed to area hospitals and are expected to recover.

22-year old Shezoy Bleary – who is an acquaintance of 53-year-old Somani was arrested for allegedly stabbing Copeland, Saltara and Somani.

TMZ Sports has video of the aftermath, which features Copeland on the ground, with a woman covering his mouth asking him not to speak. The video contains NSFW language.

Pero Antic and Thabo Sefalosha of the Atlanta Hawks were both arrested at the scene for resisting arrest, and obstruction because they allegedly refused to move while the crime scene was being established.

The Pacers are in town to play the Knicks, and the Hawks will face off against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Hawks have the number one seed in the East, while the Pacers are two games behind the Celtics for the final spot in the East.

It should be noted that Katrine might be an ex-girlfriend of Copeland but per the Indy Star they aren’t married as reported by Deadspin.
