Serena Williams has won her fifth Wimbledon title beating Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland – whose ranked third in the world-  6-1, 5-7, 6-2 to claim her 14th major championship.

Serena has been battling health issues since her last win in 2010 that included a pulmonary embolism and a foot issue caused when she stepped on a piece of glass at a restaurant while celebrating that 2010 win.

“OMG I can’t even describe. I almost didn’t make it a few years ago I was in hospital & now I’m here again. So worth it.”

“I never dreamed of being here again. Never give up.”

Last month Serena lost in the first round of the French Open which caused many to question if she still had ” it.” The response. She broke her own tournament record for aces in a match with 23 against Zheng Jie in the third round. She then bested that mark with 24 against Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals.

On Saturday, she finished with 17 aces and a record 102 for the tournament. How do you love that?

Later this evening, she and sister Venus, who had a first round exit, will compete in the doubles finals. The sisters have won 21 singles, 12 doubles, 2 mixed Grand Slam titles and 3 gold medals. Greatest sister act in the history of sports! SALUTE!
