Serena Williams Set To Return To Tennis Before Wimbledon

It’s been more than a year since we’ve seen Serena Williams on a tennis court. After injuring her right foot, two surgeries and a procedure to remove a blood clot from her lung, Serena is back and action and looking to get some practice in on the WTA tour in Eastbourne before Wimbledon.

Serena released a statement via her agent:

‘I am so excited to be healthy enough to compete again. These past 12 months have been extremely tough and character-building.

‘I have so much to be grateful for. I’m thankful to my family, friends and fans for all of their support. Serena’s back!’

I can’t wait for Serena to return to the court, I hope she can get her mojo back quickly. Serena is currently ranked 25th in the world. Venus will also being playing in Eastbourne, her current rank is 32. Eastbourne begins June 12th.
