The Giants will be without one of the receivers that graced their championship roster. NO, not Victor Cruz. Mario Manningham has signed a 2-year deal with the San Francisco 49’ers.
For the 49’ers, the receiver position wasn’t strong last season. Most of the time it seemed as if TE Veron Davis was in some sort of hybrid receiver/ tight end role. The Manningham signing coupled with the Randy Moss deal certainly makes things interesting.
And if you believe the whispers that the niners are the dark horse in the race for Manning, looks as if Frisco could be the surprise team for next season. QB Alex Smith was said to be meeting with the Dolphins this weekend as he and Peyton Manning have the same agent and he’s not feeling the love.
Peyton has said he’ll make an announcement on Tuesday.
