Ronda Rousey went from being UFC and Hollywood “It Girl” to social media meme after a shocking second round knockout via the hands and feet of Holly Holm at UFC 193. Rousey revealed that the loss was so devastating that she thought about killing herself.
I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a s–t about me anymore without this.’ …
To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.
Rousey credited her boyfriend and fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne with helping her to get though it.
She also says she’s still undefeated; “I’m still undefeated because being defeated is a choice. Everybody has losses in their life but I choose to always be undefeated.”
Rousey said she definitely wants to fight Holly Holm again; “I want to beat her and make everything right”.
Mike Tyson is someone who has had suicidal thoughts, he’s also a big Rousey fan. TMZSports caught up with him and asked his thoughts on Rousey’s admission and if he would be willing to help Rousey train for that match.
Tyson says he would definitely be willing to help but Rousey doesn’t need it.
Tyson says Rousey’s suicidal thoughts were just a “moment in time”, insisting she doesn’t feel that way now and she’s good to fight again.
When asked about bad thoughts after a loss, he replied “I had bad thoughts after a win”
