Charles Barkley was an awarded an Emmy on Monday night for outstanding sports studio analyst for his work on my favorite show, “Inside the NBA.” Chuck won over Cris Collinsworth (HBO/NBC), Jay Bilas (ESPN), Jeff Hammond (FOX) and Kirk Herbstreit (ESPN).
Kenny Smith equated Chuck’s win to winning the MVP on a championship team (as Inside the NBA also won an Emmy as did the Shaq promo which kicked off the season.) How do champions celebrate in the locker room? With champagne of course!

Former NBA player Charles Oakley’s reputation in the NBA was legendary. Some of the thug-nificant off court alleged incidents are even crazier. Oakley has never been known to hold his tongue so you know his recent radio interview with Jim Rome is absolutely full of quotables.
Oakley shared his thoughts on Kevin Garnett (he’s not a tough guy), Charles Barkley (he’s a coward AND a fraud) and OKC Thunder forward Kendrick Perkins.

Shaq and Charles Barkley have selected their teams for the 2012 NBA Rising stars challenge- the revamped rookie-sophomore challenge. There were also two late additions to the draft pool. Knicks sensation, Jeremy Lin and Heat rookie Norris Cole were added to the mix.

I expected great things when I heard Shaq was being added to TNT’s Inside the NBA. So far, it’s been so-so, but it’s only been a month and like the game itself, chemistry takes time to develop.
However, last night Shaq did cause me to giggle when he honored a bet he lost to Charles Barkley. Shaq said when the Clippers and Timberwolves faced off (earlier this week), that Kevin Love would outplay Blake Griffin and if he didn’t, Shaq would “sit on set in his undies.”
Charles Barkley Clarifies Weight Watchers Statement

Predictably, people blew Charles Barkley’s statement that Weight Watchers is a ‘scam’, out of context. I thought it was pretty clear that he meant being paid to lose weight is a “scam” but I guess not. Barkley and Weight Watchers have issued a statement clearing up the remarks.
