ESPN’s Robert Flores Calls “First Take” Coverage Of Cam Newton a lil Racist

I’m a fan of the endzone dance. I like a little showmanship with my touchdowns. So for the most part, I’m not offended when a player like Cam Newton dabs his way through a celebration.

On Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs’ Tight End Travis Kelce scored a touchdown and hit “The Quan” in celebration. There wasn’t a lot of discussion about it, or mothers writing letters asking how they’re supposed to explain “that” to their children, like there has been over the last few weeks regarding Cam .

ESPN’s Robert Flores has a theory as to why that is – hint he says its because Travis is white. He even name checked one of ESPN’s signature shows, the highly rated “First Take,” while hosting Monday’s SportsCenter. Flores believes the media has been highlighting Cam’s celebrations because of race.

“I’m wondering why there’s no Letters to the Editor or why First Take’s not doing ‘Should Travis Kelce be dancing in the endzone?’… I wonder why they’re not doing that. Oh, because he’s not black. That’s probably what it is.”

Robert isn’t afraid to say things on air with bravado. He’s even slammed rapper Iggy Azalea on air, proclaiming she murdered hip-hop. He followed that up with a Twitter war of words with Iggy’s then-boyfriend-current-fiance Nick Young over the comments.

Probably going to be a little awkward at lunch on the ESPN campus today.
