Jason Kidd Officially Announced As Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach

Jason-Kidd

Jason Kidd’s first two years being a head coach in the NBA will be interesting to watch. Kidd went from playing with the Knicks to coaching the Brooklyn Nets last season, earning them the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.

But now Kidd has allegedly forced himself out of Brooklyn and into the role of head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks. First year head coach Larry Drew was fired after news broke of Kidd reportedly being offered a dual-role (basketball operations and coaching) with the Bucks. The Bucks had to give the Nets two second round draft picks.

The Bucks went 15-67 in Drew’s only season as head coach.

Last season started out rough for the Nets. Early highlights included Kidd being fined $50,000 for purposely dropping a cup of soda on the court to stop the clock and firing assistant Lawrence Frank- his former head coach at one point during Kidd’s playing days. Going 10-21. But then they started winning. I believed that it was Paul Pierce that had a lot to do with the Nets improvement the second half of the season making it to the second round of the playoffs.

The Bucks selected Jabari Parker with the second pick in last week’s NBA draft. Now JKidd actually has to prove that he has what it takes to be a head coach in the NBA. No iso Joe, Deron WIlliams, Paul Pierce and KG. The veteran leaders on the Bucks, OJ Mayo and Larry Sanders.

Kidd’s deal is believed to be 3-years at somewhere between $4 million and $5 million per year.
