Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s BET reality show, Home Team debuted on Tuesday night. It features Jackson, his mother Gayle, sister Dreea and publicist Denise.
In the first episode we learned a few things. These are the five that stood out the most.
The first thing we learned is that DJacc is still holding on to his rap star dreams, while he’s living “The dream” as an NFL star. He is also about the turn up. We have the requisite shots of him in the club and the studio with the homies.
“I’m the one who’s risking my life on the field, so I feel like I have every right to enjoy my life the way I want to off the field,” he says.
While we wait for JaccPot records to blow up, DeSean also shares with us that he still has an issue with the way things went down with his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, calling their tactics a “smear campaign:”
“When I was released by the Eagles, I feel they tried to paint a picture that definitely wasn’t true,” Jackson said on the show last night. “It was a slap in the face, coming off one of my best seasons in the NFL. The Eagles tried to blow me up. That’s cold how they did it.”
Jackson is referring to the rumors of gang ties that popped up last year as Chip Kelly and the Eagles prepared to cut him.
“That’s why I think they fired me,” he said. “Have I went to jail?…I ain’t done none of that.”
As expected, DeSean’s mom is very involved in his life as his mom-manger.
“Women try to dominate my life, but at the end of the day, I’m the boss and I’m the one that’s paying all the bills,” DeSean says.
DeSean hadn’t told his mother that his girlfriend of a few months, Kayla, is pregnant. From the looks of the upcoming previews, his mother isn’t happy that a girl she’s never met is carrying her grandchild. She also asked DeSean if he is “sure it’s his” and if he’ll be having a DNA test done.
Yikes!
DJacc had a party Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of his show.
