Jameis Winston cleared by FSU disciplinary hearing

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was accused of sexual assault in 2012.  Prosecutors declined to press charges. Recently Winston had to face a disciplinary hearing at FSU to see if they would levy any punishment stemming from the incident.

Winston’s lawyer, David Cornwell, has published via Twitter the conclusion of the in-house proceedings:  “In sum, the preponderance of the evidence has not shown that you are responsible for ANY of the charged violations of the Code.”  Cornwell has confirmed that the quote comes from the ruling in Winston’s case.

With NFL money pretty much assured in the next few months, I’m quite certain a civil suit will be filed. But for now, Winston is in the clear.
