NBA Commissioner Adam Silver brought the hammer down on Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Silver announced that Sterling has been banned for life by the NBA. Meaning he can’t be in any NBA arenas or team facilities, participate with the NBA board of Governors or anything affiliated with the team or league. He’s been fined $2.5 million – the max allowed by the NBA bylaws – he will also urge the other NBA owners to exercise their power and vote for him to be forced to sell the team.
In order for that to happen, you’ll need 3/4’s of the owners to vote for this. Its hard to imagine that any owner of a team would risk the backlash and go against this. below are a series of tweets I shared with my thoughts on this topic.
For the people that are pissed at the legal.. Do you not think this is a collective process? Where it will take “the collective” to impact

Donald Sterling is 80 years old, his thought process won’t change. But wealthy ppl stay wealthy by amassing more $$

So the NBA’s action is a start. Then it’s on the other owners. Sponsors are showing you their thoughts

Sterling like most mastered the fame of public face vs. private thoughts

It’s one of the 48 Laws of Power.. think as you like but behave like others… LAW 38

Make sure you watch who doesnt agree with this. While the convo wasn’t illegal, he has a pattern of behavior that makes this the right thing

Look, Sterling is going to get and BE paid regardless. This is about the future.

The NBA Commissioner has done all HE can legally, now the fight switches to the owners. They have the power of the vote

What will YOU do if your team isn’t in support of him being forced to sell? Again, everyone has a part in this
