The Los Angeles Clippers may have lost a little star power this summer with the trade of Chris Paul, but they’re hoping to entice some of LA’s other limelight seekers with a new courtside seat option.
The team announced eight new seats that touch the hardwood with a special twist. The “Star Courtside” seats go for $175,000 each.

ESPN shared the details that include “all-inclusive clubs, in-seat waiter service and valet parking with access to a VIP entrance.” That means they’ll be coming in where the players are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“It’s extremely rare to have space like this open in any arena,” said Clippers president, Gillian Zucker. “What we did here was create new beachfront property.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The seats will be along the baseline between a divided scorers’ table. Because this is “Hollywood” fans also have the bonus of more facetime with players and the possibility of ending up on the jumbotron or on TV.

⠀⠀
“The seats can be seen on television, so it can be for someone who wants to be seen. It is, after all, Hollywood,” Zucker said. “Companies, agencies or just a hardcore fan who wants to get closer.”⠀
You know those in-game promos we get whenever a star has a new movie or TV series launching? Expect to see more of those collaborations at Staples Center.

Sounds like a money maker. Expect other teams to follow LA’s lead. The Clipper in-stadium neighbors, the Lakers, seem like the next team likely to be on board.
