The NFL trade deadline has passed and their was actually a flurry of activity. Let’s take a look at some of the trades that went down:
- “Retired” Bengals QB, Carlson Palmer was traded to the Oakland Raiders for a 2012 first-round draft pick and a conditional 2013 pick. The Raiders are currently sitting at 4-2 with only rookie Terrelle Pryor and Kyle Boller after Jason Campbell was lost to a collar bone injury. Carson is said to be in shape and has been working out even though he was done with Cincy. The Raiders are in “Just Win Baby” mode so we’ll see if this bold move has the desired effect on the franchise whose obviously motivated by the passing of their emotional leader, owner Al Davis.
- The struggling Eagles swaped Running Backs with the Detroit Lions- who just experienced their first lost of the season. Eagles traded Ronnie Brown to the Lions for Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed draft pick in 2013. Funny enough, Brown’s fumble against San Francisco cost the Eagles the game a few weeks back (the team that gave the Lions their first lost). This was merely a trade done to trade commodities that teams weren’t blown away with. Everybody wins.
Thoughts on the Palmer trade? I don’t exactly recall him lighting it up in Cincy. He and Terrell had a bit of chemistry last season but ultimately, we see how that experience turned out.
