Rapper Kendrick Lamar shook up the world with his verse on Big Sean’s single “Control” where he claimed to be the King of New York and named dropped Phil Jackson- Phil even responded. While rappers and other hip-hop pundits have weighed in on the topic, Knicks guard Iman Shumpert – who has a budding rap career of his own – decided to enter the fray with a response titled, “Dear Kendrick.”
Here’s the thing, Shump plays for the Knicks but he’s FROM Chicago and honestly, I’m not interested in his reaction to this. But I guess that’s hip-hop, right. Next rap adventure for Iman, he’ll be featured on a compilation hip-hop-inspired album that’s sponsored by Partnership For A Healthier America and Hip Hop Public Health. The project is the brain child of First Lady Michelle Obama to promote her “Let’s Move” campaign in an effort to fight childhood obesity and raise awareness through entertainment.
Shump will be featured on a track with Artie Green entitled “Pass the Rock.”
