Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested Monday on a family violence charge. Right now details are still sketchy but the charge is a misdemeanor and Bryant has been released after posting a $2000 bail. The alleged incident took place on Saturday, when officers took a report from the victim who has now been identified as Bryant’s mother who was allegedly intervening between a dispute between Dez and his brother.
Detectives then followed up and obtained an arrest warrant today for the class A misdemeanor.Bryant turned himself in to police. Bryant confirmed to WFAA-TV in Dallas that there had been an incident, but he declined to go into detail.
Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said, “We are in the process of gathering information and will not have a comment at this time.”
Bryant is said to have slapped and/or pushed his mother down during the altercation.
Bryant has been involved in several lawsuits involving unpaid jewelry bills, a situation at Liv nightclub in Miami along with being inconsistent for the Cowboys last season.
