Warriors Center Kwame Brown Out For 3 Months

Kwame Brown has the best-worst luck. After signing a 1-year $7 million dollar deal with the Golden State Warriors, the center has suffered  a torn pectoralis major (the large chest muscle that attaches to the right shoulder), which will require him to undergo surgery.

Recovery time, at minimum three months. ON the season, Brown, 29, appeared in all nine of Golden State’s games averaging 6.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game. Brown had recently moved up to a starter in the last three games, averaging 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in those contests.

The injury occurred on Tuesday night during the fourth quarter against the Heat. The Warriors went on to win in overtime. Between Stephen Curry’s ankle issues and this, the Warriors are going to have a tough time climbing into that eighth spot in the West. Does this create a sens of urgency to see if they can pry Dwight Howard out of the Magic’s hands per the rumor that was circulating a few weeks ago?

They have to do something. Dirk, Tim Duncan, Bynum, DeAndre Jordan. They definitely need size up front.
