Ronny Turiaf expected to sign with the Miami Heat

The Denver Nuggets waived Ronny Turiaf as part of the trade that sent Nene to the Wizards in return for Turiaf and JaVale McGee. Now it looks as if Turiaf is set to join the Miami Heat. Turiaf only played in four games with the Wizards this season as he suffered a broken hand.

Turiaf is expected to clear waivers Wednesday and could be in uniform by Friday, when the Heat play at Detroit, if the contract details can be ironed out.

“We’re trying to get a deal done and our plan is to get it done today,” Turiaf’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Wednesday. “I think it’s a great fit for Ronny.”

The Heat need an inside presence to bolster their bench. This will be a nice pick up for the Heat.
