The NBA Draft Lottery took place on Tuesday night. For both the Lakers and Knicks – legacy franchises who experienced the worst season in team history simultaneously- the hope was to land in one of the top spots.
The Lakers ended up with the second pick in next month’s draft, behind the Minnesota Timberwolves. That means barring something freaky happening, either Duke’s Jahlil Okafor or Kentucky’s Karl-Anthony Towns will be in purple and gold next season.
Kobe seemed to be pleased with the outcome.
We played like crap all season so it’s only right we get the #2 pick HA #lakerluck #goodday

Magic too
The basketball gods smiled down on the Lakers, giving us the #2 pick in the draft!

With the #2 pick we can get a great big man, add some good free agents this summer & we will be right back as a contender next season!

The Knicks came in at the number four position. Rumors are already circulating that the pick is available for trade. 35 days until we get answers. In the meantime, check out the order of the draft next month.
Quick question, does anyone else think it’s a bit much that some of the potential draft picks now attend the draft LOTTERY? I know everything is an event. And, having the prospects there, it makes for more compelling TV, but it just seems like overkill.
