Former Denver Nuggets player JR Smith is the latest NBA player to sign overseas. Smith signed a $3 million deal with Zhejiang Chouzhou — the richest deal in Chinese league history — with no out clause should the NBA season start.

Smith was a free agent and was one of 100 or so players allowed to sign with the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association.) One of the knocks about Smith has always been about his decision-making skills. Perhaps this time away will help develop those areas and make him an asset to whatever NBA team he ends up with in ’12. Congratulations to JR
