We finish off by checking in on the default conference champs. Golden State has looked a little sluggish as they’ve limped to a 3-2 start, but it’s way too early to predict anything but another championship run for a team so absurdly stocked with talent.
The outlook might be a little more dim for the Cavs, but it’s early for them too. Losses to the Magic AND the Brooklyn Nets and no Isiah Thomas for at least a couple of months make LeBron and the Gang look a little less certain to repeat. But when you look at who’s ahead of them in the standings, it’s hard to envision anyone beating LeBron in the East.
