The Miami Heat will face off against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. Dwyane Wade went on record stating that considering the shape that the city is in following Hurricane Sandy, he felt that the game should’ve been canceled. Wade isn’t the only player that felt that way. Knicks guard Raymond Felton also felt it should be rescheduled but acknowledged that the game may be a way to bring the city together for a moment and a bright spot for a difficult week.
DWade stepped up to the plate and has announced he’s donating his game check from tonight, $156,000, towards relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy. Both the NBA and the NFL have pledged $1 million each, with Mark Cuban donating $1 million on behalf of the Mavs and the Lakers donating $50K to the Red Cross.
