Trouble for the Mavericks. Dirk Nowitzki will be out for at least 6 weeks after the All-Star forward had a scope on his knee. There are already whispers that he’ll actually be out longer than that. During the first 20 games, the revamped Mavericks roster faces off against the Lakers twice (including opening night at Staples Center,) The Knicks twice and the Pacers to name a few.
The Mavs should be able to hold together and end up in too deep a hole. But in a loaded west, the Mavs are going to have a lot to prove minus their leader and Jason Terry’s loss to the Celtics.
