It might be time for Brandon Roy to consider a permanent retirement from basketball. Roy has had yet another surgery and recently revealed that he has stage three degenerative arthritis. The next step will require knee replacement.
After retiring last season, Roy signed a contract with the Timberwolves. He only played five games with the team before requiring another surgery on his right knee. His seventh since high school.
I’m sure the thought of being away from a game that his been a huge part of his life is depressing. But not being able to walk or function is probably daunting as well. There are a multitude of ways to remain close to the game he loves that put his health at risk. Sad turn of events for Roy.
