Here’s yet another way that LA beats New York, although, I’m not sure if this is the victory you’re looking for. The Dodgers have overtaken the Yankees’ 15-year run as the team having the highest payroll in the MLB.
The Dodgers will have a projected payroll of $253 million. next up is the Yankees at $204 million. A huge reason behind their dip in salary is Alex Rodriguez’s season-long suspension. That means of the $25 million he was owed, he’ll only receive #3,868,852.
The Yankees are followed by Philadelphia at $180 million, Boston at $163 million and Detroit at $162 million. Houston is last in the MLB at $45 million, up from $27 million at the start of last year.
