Looking for some sort of presence in the middle following Dwight Howard’s bolt to Houston, the Lakers have signed a one-year deal with Chris Kaman per ESPN.com. Kaman spent the bulk of his time in a suit with the Dallas Mavericks last season. He played in 66 games, averaging 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds. He’s already familiar with Staples Center too, he played for the Clippers his first eight seasons in the NBA. The Lakers are looking to empty their load in the summer of 2014 free agency pool that potentially includes LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
Chris showed off his excitement about heading back to “cali” by quoting Biggie.

It’s true, I am going to be going back to LA and it’s to play for the Lakers! I am excited about this move and can’t wait to play! #Lakers — Chris Kaman (@ChrisKaman) July 8, 2013
It’s going to be weird playing in the same building as I did before but with different colors! But excited about the move!

One way or another, Lakers-Clippers could turn into a serious rivalry.
