Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. beat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at the MGM Saturday night. Money was escorted to the ring by rapper Lil Wayne and pop star Justin Bieber. There were plenty of celebrities in the building to watch Floyd get his 45th victory.
Just a few of the names in the building, Academy award winner, Denzel Washington, Charles Barkley, Newly minted Brooklyn Nets stars, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, Magic Johnson, Diddy, Bucks OJ Mayo, boxer Adrien Broner, NFL analyst Michael Strahan and girlfriend Nicole Murphy, ESPN’s Jalen Rose, LL Cool J, Rosie Perez and more.
Diddy even gave us video of his ringside view with Rick Ross and actor Denzel Washington as his co-stars.
Floyd’s ex-girlfriend, Shantel Jackson was in the building, as was his newest supporter, “Queen Princess Love.” I guess Miss Jackson stopped at 43 boxing glove shaped hearts on her wrist.
In his post-fight conference, Floyd says that he plans to fight twice in 2014. With the two matches expected to happen in May and September once again. No mention of possible opponents but the winner of the under card match up, Danny Garcia, is a name that seems likely to come up.
