There was a lot of activity in the NBA on Friday. Let’s recap all the action that went down:
- The Boston Celtics formally introduced their 17th coach in franchise history on Friday. 36-year-old Brad Stevens is also the youngest — in both Celtics history. Check that story HERE
- The Golden State Warriors traded Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush and Andris Biedrins to the Utah Jazz to clear $20 million worth of cap space to sign Andre Igudola. The Warriors signed Iggy to 4-years-$48-million. Go HERE
Nice rebound for Iggy after the Kings rescinded their offer. He turned down a $52 million contract from the Denver Nuggets where he spent the 2012-2013 season. The move to the Warriors transfers him to the team that bounced the Nuggets out of the playoffs.
- Matt Barnes re-signs with the Clippers for three years with a contract worth close to $12 million. The third year isn’t guaranteed. Matt had a career high in scoring last season with 10.3 points.
- OJ Mayo signs with the Milwaukee Bucks for a three year, $24 million deal. So I guess that means BYE Brandon Jennings. Maybe Monta Ellis too.
- The Dallas Mavericks Sign Jose Calderon to 4-Year $29 Million Contract. He spent his first seven years with the Toronto Raptors.
- Bobcats amnesty Tyrus Thomas. More on that story HERE
