Kevin Durant says Dwyane Wade needs to “pass the torch” [video]

Kevin-Durant

Kevin Durant wants you to be clear. He means no disrespect to Dwyane Wade, but he believes his time has passed. KD once again is reiterating that James Harden is a top 10 player and DWade is not. His time has passed.

“But I stand by what I say. A lot of people disagree with me, but it is what it is. It’s nothing against D-Wade, he is a great player, he set his mark in the league, he is one of the best shooting guards ever, but like I said, I just thought, that as an older guy, it’s time to pass the torch to the younger guys. Just like somebody did to him, just like somebody did to me and I will have to do the same later on. So I just thought it was his time”.

It’s been a tough week for the elder statesmen of the NBA. First Kobe Bryant is ranked as the 25th best NBA player, now KD putting DWade out to pasture. “Three” may need to channel the power of “Flash” to solve this beef.

Regardless of whether Wade needs to pass the torch….the real question is “why does Kevin Durant feel the need to comment on another team and the dynamics of another team. For the record, Wade and whether he should “pass the torch” won’t change my thoughts or feelings about Wade. Perhaps Durant needs to learn when and what comments out of his mouth are actually relevant. Comments about other teams internal dynamics ARE NOT needed or required of you KD. Get a ring and then MAYBE…..just maybe your thoughts about other teams will be relevant.
