David Beckham final game with Galaxy to be MLS Cup finals match against the Houston Dynamos

The LA Galaxy has announced that the December 1st Finals cup match against the Houston Dynamos will be mid-foelder David Beckham’s last match with the club. Beckham arrived to the LA Galaxy in 2007 as the league’s first designated player. There’s no word of what Beckham’s next move will be, he indicated he has not only more soccer left in him but a desire for ownership in the league as well.

“I’ve had an incredibly special time playing for the LA Galaxy, however, I wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career,” Beckham said. “I don’t see this as the end of my relationship with the league as my ambition is to be part of the ownership structure in the future.”

The interesting note about that is that the LA Galaxy along with other AEG properties including the LA Kings, LA Live and the Lakers, are currently up for sale. I’m sure there’s an ownership group out there that would love to have David Beckham be apart of their group. Thus garnering the celebrity attention took the group a la Magic and the Dodgers or Peyton Manning and the Memphis Grizzlies. Plus the bonus of keeping a connection with Beckham and the Galaxy.

Now this certainly adds a bit of intrigue to Snoop Dogg (Lion’s) interest of buying a piece of a soccer club and having Becks be a star player.
