Should Victor Oladipo keep singing R&B?

When you think of side careers in the music industry for NBA players, the first thought that comes to mind is usually rapper. Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo has something a bit different in mind, as he takes the dive into the R&B side of the pond.

Oladipo dropped a single which mixes old and new, by adding a new twist to the Donny Hathaway classic,  “Song For You.”

“What inspired me to put out my own music now is that I believe it is a gift of mine and when God blesses you with a gift you should share it with others. If not then you’re doing yourself and Him a disservice,” Oladipo said to Complex. “Donny Hathaway is one of my favorite artists and ‘A Song For You’ is one of the songs I could really relate to so in honor of him I remixed his version of the song and flipped it into a modern day story of something someone might go through today in the second half.”

Oladipo says that there is nobody in the NBA that can touch him vocally. Check out the track and let us know what you think.

Victor isn’t the only NBA player on the r&B side of things. Word is former Miami Heat star Chris Bosh is working on an album too in Miami.
