Is Rachel Roy “Becky With the Good Hair” on Beyoncé’s Lemonade?

Beyoncé rocked the internet Saturday night with her HBO special – which naturally turned out to be the visual album for her surprise drop, Lemonade. As ladies everywhere got into formation, ready to memorize every line and praise King Bey for her latest sonic masterpiece, someone else decided to pop fresh on Instagram about it… maybe.

Rachel Roy, best known for her fashion line, being Jay Z‘s old business partner Damon Dash’s ex-wife and the rumored cause of conflict two years ago when Solange popped off on Jay Z in the elevator possibly outed herself as the woman Jay Z MAY have cheated on Bey with.

Confused, let me take you back a bit to catch you up.

When Beyoncé dropped Lemonade,  fans couldn’t help but notice that several of the lyrics were about Bey’s man being unfaithful and the hurt that comes in the aftermath. In the song Sorry, Beyoncé says “he better call Becky with the good hair.”

Perhaps it was just coincidence or a cruel moment of fate, but during the same time of Lemonade’s debut, Rachel dropped a caption on a photo of her and friend at Coachella that seemed to imply that SHE was “Becky with the good hair”

“Good hair don’t care but we will take good lighting for good selfies or self truths always. Live in the light #NoDramaQueens”

That seems like a subliminal diss to me. Especially when you consider that day after the elevator video dropped, people were alluding to Solo being pissed because Jay was flirting with Rihanna that night at the Met Gala – that was the event that preceded Solange popping off on Jay – Bey refuted that posting a photo of she and Ri. Her next photo was of herself wearing an Aaliyah shirt.

That seemed to fall in line with the Rachel Roy rumor because, Dame was dating Aaliyah at the time of her death and had left Roy…

Since the Saturday night coincidence, Roy has deleted that post and put her IG on private. Jay Z’s long time stylist June Ambrose has said there’s no truth to the rumor. It hasn’t stopped the hive from flaming Rachel – and her daughters which is WRONG – with bees and lemons in their mentions.

It’s entirely possibly that Bey was simply using her art as inspiration for topics that appeal to her fans and mimics situations they’ve gone through. Let us not forget her mother was cheated on as well. It might be her story she’s sharing.

Sidenote, while bey might actually have hot sauce in her bag for seasoning, Lemonade made it clear that “hot sauce” is a BAT.

Lemonade is available now on both Tidal and iTunes.
