Warriors G Monta Ellis 1st Comments After Being Accused of Sexual Harassment [Video]

Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis gave his first comments Friday after being sued for sexual harassment by former Warriors employee, Erika Smith. As expected, Monta sidestepped the topic stating that it’s a legal issue that he wasn’t able to comment on.

“I’m going to continue to live my life,” Ellis said after Friday’s practice. “I’m going to continue to go through every day, go home and go to sleep every night, wake up with a smile, go to work and get my job done.”

Yup, that’s it. Monta also stated his focus is 100% on basketball and the case won’t interfere with that.

The suit alleges that Warriors’ officials, informed of the texting in January by Ellis’ wife, Juanika Ellis, did everything they could to protect their star player while violating their legal duty to investigate Smith’s complaint.

The Warriors offered to pay her money to leave her job in February, removed her from working with Ellis and some other players shortly thereafter, and fired her in August on the pretext that they no longer needed a community relations director, the suit said. It also accused the Warriors of failing to pay Smith overtime.
