Throwback: Ex-Denver Nuggets Head Coach Brian Shaw Rapping

Ty-Lawson

Back in the day, I used to intern at a record label named Immortal records. It was run by a Jewish guy named Happy Walters who had a love of rap music and basketball. It also had an artist management division, and soundtrack supervision.

The moment I first fell in love with a sports-entertainment hybrid was working on a project for the label entitled B-Ball’s Best Kept Secret. it was the first album full of NBA players moonlighting as rappers. Some of the names featured were Shaq, rookie Jason Kidd and former Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw.

Shaw was fired by the Nuggets in March, but Saturday his former starting point guard Ty Lawson posted a video of Shaw revisiting his roots, rapping in the Nuggets locker room.
