HIGHTOWN is the STARZ network’s new drama set in Cape Cod. Executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the show centers around Jackie Quiñones (Monica Raymund) a hard-partying lesbian National Marine Fisheries Service agent that is wrestling with sobriety.
Jill Munroe spoke with the cast including Monica about taking on an edgier role as Jackie, if there are plans for her to direct any episodes of “HIGHTOWN” – she recently directed the crossover episode between CBS’ FBI and NBC’s Chicago PD.
The series also features Amaury Nolasco ( Fox’s Prison Break) as “Frankie Alvarez.” Frankie is locked up but still runs the biggest opioid operation in Cape Cod. Though charming, Alvarez won’t hesitate to move people out of the way that interferes with his business. We also meet Ray (James Badge Dale) a sergeant in the Cape Cod Narcotics Unit that has been after Frankie for years, but he’s always one step ahead of Ray.
Frankie’s connects on the outside include his baby mama, Renee (Riley Voelkel) and his muscle, Osito (Atkins Estimond) a hardened gangster that has a tender heart for his solider-in-training, Junior (Shane Harper.)
Norwood Dohn (USA’s “The Sinner) portrays Alan Saintille. The only Black state Trooper on the Cape Cod Drug Taskforce – he’s worked with Ray for years but the two aren’t friends and definitely don’t see eye to eye on how things should be handled.
