Ready? Ok!
Some of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders will have some extra spirit and pep in their step, as a former Bucs cheerleader reached a settlement with the NFL team for $825,000.
Manouchcar Pierre-Val, who used to cheer for the Bucs, sued the Bucaneers claiming the girls were only paid $100 per game and nothing for practice time or other team events. When all their hours of work was added the cheerleaders were making less than $2.00 an hour.
Pierre-Val demanded $661k, but according to court documents, the Bucs agreed to hand over $825k to 93 cheerleaders. The lawyers have to take their cut ($264k), so that leaves $561k for the cheerleaders.
When it’s all broken down it means each former cheerleader will receive just under $6k.
Gooooo class action!
