Meeka Claxton wants to know why nobody supported her when Tami Roman popped HER in the face

Remember in Basketball Wives season 3, cast member Meeka Claxton was the victim of Tami Roman’s “pop to the face” while the ladies were in Italy? Meeka has written a blog questioning where the outrage was when she was attacked.

Am I mad? No, more like I’m disappointed. When I was attacked everyone thought it was funny.  No one thought her actions were disgraceful. As a matter of fact the very same ladies (for lack of a better word) that are “hurt” by the backlash,  joked about me being attacked. They laughed and even called me names for taking a stand against her.

I thought pressing charges was wack?  Oooooh, I get it…it’s wack when it’s not you!

They all (except Royce) stood behind her, co-signing her actions.  But now you want everyone to believe you want balance?  As much as their hypocrisy bothers me, I expect it because now their actions threaten their money.  So, I knew the crocodile tears weren’t far behind.

What really hurts me are all of the talk show hosts and journalists that are suddenly disturbed by what they are seeing.  Taking stands, boycotting, signing petitions etc…Isn’t this what I contacted all of you about last year? I asked for your support, none of which I received. But now it’s a problem? So, it was ok for me to be physically assaulted?  Where was all of this “Call To Action” last year? Am I less of a human being?

Meeka has to acknowledge a few things about her particular situation. First, we watched her put herself in the postion of clearly trying too hard to become part of the circle. Picking up on their backstabbing bad habits and love of “basketball wives” earrings. Her being a tad messy from the gate, may have caused people to feel a bit indifferent about her circumstance.

Second, Tami was almost a folk hero in season two (the one prior to Meeka’s) people related to her struggles and wanted to see her win. They knew she was rough around the edges but felt she was on her way to getting it together. Meeka appeared to give as good as she got. That’s not an excuse, just an observation. At that point, Tami still had the sympathy of the viewers.

I was actually in full support of Meeka’s lawsuit against Tami. She didn’t take the situation as seriously as she’s now asking us to. Kesha sat like a wounded baby bird while Tami berated her, she ran each and every time an altercation started even if she wasn’t the target. Sometimes, you have to be as real with yourself as you’re asking others to be.

As I said last summer about Meeka’s lawsuit and willingness to return to the show, a lesson is only learned when it’s followed through.

So Meeka, there were people that were on your side when it happened to you. But your selective amnesia on your actions that season might have a great deal to do with WHY that support seemed lacking.

On the bright side, it established a pattern which has now reached the point that viewers are demanding a change. She should understand that in Keisha’s fight lies hers as well.
