Maybe I’m being over simplistic, call it my “Snow White” state. But if a Jock for YOUR team shows up to the practice facility and isn’t on any sort of team suspension or disciplinary action, why is he being asked to leave?
Vince Young showed up at his team’s facility today and was asked to leave by a team official per Pro Football talk.
The situation with Vince Young and Titans’ coach Jeff Fisher seems to be creating more of a distraction than whatever the alleged behavior of Vince Young has. Again, perhaps my naivete is forcing me to accept a shiny poison apple but Vince hasn’t been suspended or disciplined for any actions correct? Was his being there risking more injury to his thumb? Is there a backlash against him by the other players where his presence is disruptive?
Odd moves being made. If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was a power flex by “someone” whose determined to show Vince that no matter what he thinks, he’s truly powerless in these circumstances. Cut him, waive him, discipline him but don’t play the “My piece is bigger than yours” game. At least that’s my view from the sideline
UPDATE: The Titans have since issued a statement regarding the situation. “Tennessean reports indicating that Vince Young is not welcome at Baptist Sports Park are incorrect,” the statement reads. “Yesterday, he was informed by a coach at the facility not to attend Monday’s team meeting and was free to leave. The intention was to be able to talk to the team about Young’s situation and how the team would move forward. Players that are on injured reserve are not required to attend team meetings. As of today, he has been placed on injured reserve and all the same rules apply to him as to any other player in that category.”
Mmmkay. Just forgot to give Vince that piece of information too right? Would that be enough to make Vince “visibly upset”? Eh I guess.
