In my opinion, two things led to the inevitable boom of reality TV. MTV’s “The Real World” and The OJ Simpson trial in 1995. “The trial of the Century” as it was referred to, was the very definition of must see TV. Looks like Fox agrees. Plans are in the works to produce a 10 to 12 episode mini-series about the trial and what was taking place behind the scenes.

“tentatively titled, The Run of His Life: The People vs. O.J. Simpson, based on a book of the same name. “Everybody remembers where they were when O.J. Simpson, riding in a white Bronco, led the police on a low-speed chase all over Los Angeles,” the network revealed in their statement, crediting the chase with the “birth” of reality TV.

Additionally, Fox says that the show will “take viewers behind the scenes of ‘The Trial of The Century’, driven by the nonstop plot of a courtroom thriller and presenting the story of the trial as it has never been told.”

Are you interested? In 2007, he released the book, “If I Did It,”  giving a “hypothetical” account of how he would have murdered Nicole Brown-Simpson, the mother of his children, and her friend, Ron Goldman. Fox was on board back then, attempting to put together, If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened, a two-hour exclusive interview with Simpson.

Simpson is currently in jail in Nevada.
