Former Atlanta Braves star Otis Nixon spent 17 seasons in the MLB from 1983 – 1999. He’s also been married to three famous women – 70’s soul singer Candi Stanton in 2010, former singer and TLC manager Perri “Pebbles” Reid and boxer Sugar Ray Lenoard’s ex wife Juanita back in the 80’s. Nixon was celebrated for beating several drug addictions during that time.

Could it be that his addiction demons have returned?  The 54-year-old Nixon was arrested over the weekend after being pulled over, and officers discovered he had a crack pipe on him and a small rock substance that was believed to be crack cocaine.

A 911 caller reported a red Dodge Ram pickup truck driving erratically on I-575 north shortly after midnight and a deputy was dispatched and pulled the truck over, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

“Otis admitted to me that the substance was crack cocaine but it didn’t belong to him,” a deputy wrote in the report. “Otis said the crack cocaine and the pipe belonged to his son.”

Officers administered a field sobriety test and Nixon allegedly didn’t appear to be under the influence but was still taken into custody. Nixon was on his way to take a female passenger home when he was stopped. She wasn’t arrested.
